The Element
Flare
An energy unlike anything humanity had ever harnessed — the reason a shattered world rebuilt into something faster and stranger than anyone expected. It isn't just power. It's why anyone's still here.
An original sci-fi game and spiritual successor to the Firefall beta. Decades after a meteor event reshaped the world and left behind Flare — a strange energy that changed everything — humanity has rebuilt. Now something else has come for it. You're a licensed pilot in the fight to hold what's left.
New development streams every Thursday on Twitch and YouTube.
The World
A meteor shower, decades past, swept across the entire world — and left something behind. Flare: an energy unlike anything humanity had ever harnessed, capable of powering technology once thought impossible. Then the sky changed, and something came for it. You're a licensed pilot in the fight to hold what's left.
Out of the wreckage, a new civilization rose faster and stranger than anyone expected — exosuit Platforms, jump jets, weapons drawing on power once unimaginable, all of it made possible by Flare.
Humanity calls them the Umbra — a darkness that swallows the light wherever it goes, extinguishing everything the Flare touches. Where the Umbra spread, the ground dies, the air turns wrong, and the border between the living world and their territory is visible for miles: a wall of dark, restless haze known as the Curtain. Nobody knows exactly what the Umbra want, or why the Pall spreads the way it does. Nobody's gotten close enough to ask and come back with an answer.
Humanity didn't fall. The Charter — a global government built from the survivors who chose to rebuild together — holds the line. Its Pilot Authority licenses and trains the pilots who fight to keep the Curtain back and the world alive.
You're a licensed pilot, one of thousands who took up the fight for reasons that are entirely your own — duty, money, revenge, the thrill of it. Not everyone's reasons are noble, and nobody's judging. Getting your license is where it all starts. You control a Platform, a personal combat exosuit built and modified like the machine it is: your machine, your build, tuned to how you fight. Master your build long enough, and you can mix components across manufacturer brands entirely — a flex only the best pilots earn.
Key Elements
The terms you'll hear pilots use, and what's really behind each one.
The Element
An energy unlike anything humanity had ever harnessed — the reason a shattered world rebuilt into something faster and stranger than anyone expected. It isn't just power. It's why anyone's still here.
The Threat
A darkness that swallows the light wherever it goes, extinguishing everything the Flare touches. Nobody knows exactly what they want — nobody's gotten close enough to find out and come back with an answer.
The Authority
A global government built from survivors who chose to rebuild together. Its Pilot Authority licenses and trains every pilot who fights to hold the line.
The Battlefield
Where the Umbra spread, the ground dies and the air turns wrong. Its edge is visible for miles — a wall of dark, restless haze known as the Curtain.
The Push
A Charter device fueled by Concentrated Flare that forces the Curtain back — long enough to mine what's inside, explore what's been lost, or push through to the source. Nothing stays won without a fight.
Your Machine
Your personal combat exosuit, built and modified like the machine it is — your machine, your build, tuned to how you fight. Master it, and you can mix components across rival manufacturer brands.
Your Deployable
Your personal deployable rig, configurable to how you work. Set it to mine, and it'll dig. Set it up for a fight, and it'll turn into a weapons platform, a decoy, or backup when things go wrong.
